WHERE THE DOVES FLY In Pictures

If you read my post on maintaining inspiration while writing, you know that one of the tools novelist Swati Avasthi recommends is putting together a board of photographs that somehow mirror the contents of whatever project you are working on. Writers should show this board and these photographs to someone else, as that may help to reveal something about the project that they, as a writers, are unable to identify about their own work (Swati gives the example of her board hiding all faces - fitting, as her project was about hiding).

I've been working on and off on a book trailer for WHERE THE DOVES FLY and so I pulled a few images from my collection for the video and then found a few more.

They are posted below. Let me know what you think.

I'm not sure how these would look and interact on a board.

They are in no particular order here.

I can see where your pictures would be great inspiration for your writing. Each picture tells a story in its own right.

Congratulations on being able to have a novelist as your mentor. I'm sooooo jealous. ~ Yaya

This is a fabulous idea! Funny thing, we just were given a lovely cork board last week & I've been scratching my head what to do with it! I'm going to hang it next to my computer & put pictures on it relating to my current WIP.

Thanks for the inspiration!!

These are such evocative photographs—I can see how they’d inspire.
I must try that…

Marvelous, marvelous idea! I may just have to do this tonight for my trilogy :)

Lovely photos. They tell a sad and yet hopeful story.

Happy Thursday,
Jen
